2003 SV 1.8 K Series.
I have a 4-2-1 competition exhaust with separate cat that came with the car. Pretty sure the system is Cheesman/Caterham. The rear of the silencer is fixed with a bobbin and the front connects to the cat which hangs off the primaries. I have just had my second case of weld and metal fatigue causing a leak. I understand that some owners make use of a centre bracket somewhere near the cat to relieve some of the weight.
Advice is wanted on where is the mounting hole, thread size, what does a bracket look like and can brackets be bought or do I have to make one?
John
there is a description of how to find the hole using a magnet and a picture of the bracket on the thread below

and following pages. Sorry but can't help re thread.

Thanks. I remember there being a few posts on this but I couldn't find any. I think there is enough in that thread to locate the hole and there is also mention of it being the same bolt as the rear. I think I now just need some help with how to get the bracket attached to the exhaust.
How did you get the bracket to connect to the exhaust? The rear of the silencer has a lug welded to it but the front has nothing that I can see.
Just noticed that the reply numbers are still broken. My first was to Paul and second was to SM25T regardless of what the screen says.
My exhaust is a PowerSpeed too but on a Vx 2.0 litre. Front and rear brackets are welded on and each comprise two straps, top and bottom, for strength.
This is the front bracket.
Hope it helps a bit. Sorry, it needs rotating anti clockwise.

Here you are, sir:

Thanks that saved a bit of neck ache and has given some inspiration.
It probably has a proper name but I have obtained a ring thingy that is a perfect fit for the pipe with a lug on the side that I am hoping to use. My next step is to get what I have in place and see if there is a gap that needs to be filled with something.
