pkw2704
I know Caterhams are tight down there and special shoes help, anyone bent the pedals to get a better fit? pics of your mods VERY welcome ,here's mine at the moment before i mod them ,does it look normal? first pics is above, the second pic i am thinking of bending the clutch 20mm left and the brake 5-10mm to the right
Wrightpayne
Have you got a standard or lowered floor? I found a lowered floor created more foot room for my size 11s. It must be because you sit lower, as the lowered floor tapers up to the level of the original flat floor at the point where your heels are. I still can only drive in certain shoes that are usually narrow with no sole overhang!
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 27, 2021 Member Share Posted September 27, 2021 What would you like to improve... more space between the clutch and brake pedals? Better position of the brake pedal for heel and toeing? (Doesn't sound like space down the L for your left foot past the clutch pedal.)ThanksJonathan

Wrightpayne
I could never get my clutch foot comfortable with the std floor - it was either angled back hovering over the pedal (and ached on long journeys) or I had to try and wriggle it under the pedal and risk not getting it back out in an emergency! pkw2704
lowered floor is my last hope,I think positioning of the pedals will help, like you ,i have to place my foot lightly on the clutch(help with pre load till i get the correct spring) whist going through the box or under it when cruising,SV i hear you but i like the s3 shape More side movement would be bliss ,
pkw2704
no space down the left to slip my foot into ,have to lift and place under it ,does the picture look like a normal footwell and pedal spacing
timb2117
SV so sorry doesn't help you much, however I added the alloy pads to get the brake nearer to accelerator, works lovely for heel and toe now, and avoids bending stuff....
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 28, 2021 Member Share Posted September 28, 2021 "here's mine at the moment before i mod them ,does it look normal?"That looks typical as a starting position.Have you got the Assembly Guide section on adjustment? Let me know if you need a copy. And beyond that as Tim says you can make big changes by altering the pedal surfaces... one of mine currently has a section of mahogany handrail. And there's a lot on this in the archives.JonathanPS: What size shoes, and have you tried specialist driving/ karting/ boxing footwear? Benton
Pedal position looks pretty standard to me. Size 10 feet, drive in plimsoles. Tuck foot under clutch peddle and as mentioned above lowered floor makes this much easier regardless of S3 or S5 chassis.
7 wonders of the world
There are two pedal options for the brake pedal, one straight and one offset which moves the pedal circa 15mm toward the clutch both are interchangeable. If you are just looking for a few mm then take the pedal rubbers off and add skateboard tape to the pedals you gain 4mm each side of the pedals as you loose the rubber overhang
pkw2704
Size 10 feet . Adjusted the pedals 15mm left on the clutch, around 10mm right on the brake ,so a little better.Need to tweak the accel for toe/heel.Will remove the rubbers for a bit more ,good idea on the tape
Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 2, 2021 Member Share Posted October 2, 2021 "Need to tweak the accel for toe/heel."For the loud pedal there is the repositioning as described in the Assembly Guide, bending of the shaft, which is often assisted by a screwdriver, and as a last resort adding a block on top, which is what I've done.Jonathan
