revilla
Can anyone tell me what these clips (which retain the top legs of the front grilles) are called and whether it's possible to get slightly wider ones?Over time they've chewed the edge of the fibreglass and one was just hanging on by the skin of its teeth. Some slightly wider ones would fit better now.Alternatively I'll have to find another way to fasten them. Thanks, Andrew
Wrightpayne
They look like classic mini parts - clips to hold on the seam covers.
Wrightpayne
There is also a head lining / seat fabric attachment clip for the classic mini.
Wrightpayne
Google 'automotive upholstery clips'. I find I spend hours searching for stuff like this! Found this....https://www.morrisminor.org.uk/parts/99-headlining/3595-clip-edge-for-retaining-vinyl-leather?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5fSIxfWR7QIVWIfVCh1zWQKJEAkYBCABEgJsSPD_BwE
revilla
I think you're right Ian. Looks like an ADH3809 clip. Not being generic, doesn't look like you can buy anything identical other than wider. I'll have to do some other kind of repair. Thanks for the info! AristoCat
Andrew I suspect these stationery paper fasteners would work - they come in a size that would clip 3-4mm worth of papers together....
revilla
Another possibility there thank you.

Area Representative paul richards Posted November 20, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted November 20, 2020 I second the use of small cable ties and a couple of small holes each side of the holes where the grill pokes through. Position the holes so that there is tension on the grill tang. A much better solution than the original fittings.

Guy Lowe
I did the same as SM25T & others, drill two 2.5mm holes and use a 2.5mm cable tie either side.
