nutty7
Hi after piston detonation and an engine rebuild it seems that the pump was to blame, I am looking to replace the original 6443327 with an uprated version .https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/fuel-pump-for-caterham-7-motorsport-upgrade-pump-itp144?pn=ITP144Has anyone installed the MM one it looks like a direct replacement, also will it have enough flow rate rate for 260ish BHP.Any info appreciated. 7 wonders of the world
ISTR someone posting that the pumps fit with minor alteration to the rubber collar (most do) in the tank bracket but the terminals needed reversing.
TomB
I fitted an ITP 101 I think from Merlin for a Range / Land Rover. It was a tight fit in the cradle, but went in with a bit of fettling. I can't recall now why I didn't fit the ITP 144 now, possibly the age of my car, having spade conenctors rather than a plug connection. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/fuel-pump-landrover-lse-4-2-6443228-itp101
nutty7
An update for anyone looking to replace the fuel pump in the future. The original pump fitted was a AC6443327 as I needed a pump with more flow rate but wanted to keep it internal to the tank I chose a Walbro GSS340 high pressure pump. Rated at 255ltr/hr @ 3 bar.Old pump, filter sock very dirtyNew pump slighter larger circumference.I had to make a cut in the plastic holder so it would fit the slightly larger pump. The metal frame with rubber luckily still fitted and held the pump firmly in place.New filter sock fitted.I also purchased a wiring kit for the Walbro pump as the old pump just had spade connections, I tested the pump in a bowl of fuel before installing to check wiring was correct, it was all good. red/red black/black.All the parts were from Demon Tweeks.Pump FSEGSS340Wiring Kit (plug) FSE22-615Filter Sock ATLFT-AB-
