Anyone fitted one or got any comments? How easy are they to calibrate?
I love the questions on this product, Q "Is It GPS" A "No"
Never tried a GPS speedo, all I know its they are not IVA compliant.
I don't really care about IVA it's just that my K series 2006 one has died. We have tried changing the gearbox sender to no avail and temporarily swapped in another speedo which didn't work either. Since new senders / speedos are over £200 I thought this might be a solution.
Surely someone has used one?
What about this?
I think the problem is line of sight with the sky. Like a satnav dropping its signal when you go through a tunnel or perhaps if plenty of overhanging trees, the speedo will "drop out" for a brief spell. Most of the time it isnt a problem, but its just every now and again when you heading towards a speed camera!
If temp fix Sigma wired bike computer - magnet on the wheel rim and extend the sensor wire.
When my speedo drive failed a couple of days before heading to Le Mans I downloaded a speedometer app for my phone and mounted the phone in the centre of the steering wheel, worked great and actually updated speed at a better rate than my Garmin nav. Absolutely basic, no frills but works perfectly:

Arrr but would that be classed as using your phone whilst driving ;-)
