SM25T
Remove the rubber bung on the rear. How many switches are there ... 4 or 10 ? There will be a tiny potentiometer beside them too ...you can fine tune it with that pot.
andydavy
Its got 4 pins. Any idea where they should be set?
SM25T
You mean 4 slide switches ? There is a Caerbont table somewhere .... settings dependant on wheel and tyre size, diff ratio etc. I found mine were all set the opposite to where they should be. Now spot on at 70-80. You could try that ... very similar age to my car.
SM25T
I'll see if I can find the table.
SM25T
The settings referred to on this page are for the 10-switch version I think. See https://www.caigauge.com/product-instructions

SM25T
From Richard Price in a thread of mine from 2007++ The 4 dip switch speedo's only have two settings. Low value 8380 pulses per mile (sw1,3and 4 off) (sw1 on) High value 8790 pulses per mile (sw1,3 and 4 on) (sw2 off)++So -- try these options. Just make a note of where you startedThis does confirm why mine needed swapping to the opposite setting. It was a quick and easy fix.

Rex
I tried various combinations for the switches. I was able to cut the error from reading high by 12 mph to reading high by 7 mph. I finally decided to put my own numbers on the face of the gauge. They cover up the original numbers and are also slightly bigger.
