Jenvey Heritage DCOE throttle bodies

I like the idea of these of these, so apologies if this is a daft question but is it possible to retro fit these to a K series car?

Their Direct to Head version is normal fitment (as you are probably aware). Also available from QED. The advantage of these are that air boxes have been developed that fit under the bonnet.

I'm pretty sure there is one member who runs a K Series with actual DCOEs so it is feasible.

No one sees under the bonnet when you are hurtling past ;-)

The ones you are posting about are fitted to the sigma engines 1600 super sports cars edition from earlier this year

To fit them to a K-Series they'll need a twin 40's inlet manifold which if ever made would probably be as rare as rocking horse poo!

the DCOE Heritage are Very expensive, perfect for their intended market but not on a  K - the DTH are much better, port spacing is correct and you don't have the manifold kinks to upset the fuel suspension either.

Hello,

Having no (not yet) experience in this domain, what is required for installing these DTH bodies?

I guess that the Mems ECU has to be remapped or changed for an Emerald has to be installed.

Several element such as TPS, pressure regulator, injectors, IAV, ... have to be adapted or changed.

Does someone has any experience for this transformation/adaptation?

Quite a bit is carried over. You will need an ecu that does alpha/n fuel and spark so emerald is easier as it plugs straight in to a eu2 loom. Iac isn’t used with one of them. I think the fuel rail can be reused. Injectors can also be used.

Alastair Westle has just fitted qed jenveys to his car so would be a good person to ask

With the right airbox kit you can retain the whole of the injection system from your plenum, all you need is the DTH TBs , the airbox kit (now available again) and an Emerald ECU with adaptor and appropriate map. Installation instructions are available on my website.

The Webcon manifold for the DCOE lookalikes is agricultural, heavy and you cant get the attachment bolts in the holes without modification, the port spacing is also a long way off from the head ports. DTH bodies are the way to go.

Thanks for the responses.

It was more from an retro aesthetic viewpoint than performance, the look of the K&N's through the bonnet and the induction noise on my clam shelled 1996 K really appeals......

So it is feasible?
