Lowered floors

Ordered new  lowered floors for my CSR which turned up yesterday, all I have to do is fit them. Anyone done this themselves, and if so what lessons have you learnt?  Any pearls of wisdom greatly received.

When I start if I take a pictorial record would anyone be interested?

There will be lots of interest on here Steve, so please do take photos. If you don't have your own blog,  perhaps a blog within the  club site would be a good home for them? 

I can't help in terms of the process, but have you seen the Wheeler Dealers episode where Edd China replaces the floors? Series 12 Ep 13 will give you a good feel for the process. You can generally find it on You Tube or its repeated on Discovery channel every few weeks at the moment. 

Good luck with the installation, I'll be watching out for the updates.

2. ... including strong recommendations to get something better than a hand-powered pop rivetter. There are two pneumatic rivetters in the register of equipment for loan.
3. Story and photos and advice would be great.

I got redline to do mine on my old CSR. They fitted it while I waited. I only needed the passenger side doing as it had one on the drivers side. Probably worth remembering to grease the propshaft couplings when you have the floor apart as otherwise there is no access to them.

Ordered the floors from Caterham, took around a month for them to turn up, and yes they were £130 ish each plus vat, can't remember the exact amount.
