New Tyres - CSR

The CR500s on my CSR have loads of tread and fine on dry track but a bit of a handful on cold wet roundabouts so I think age wise they no longer suit the cold climate up here in Scotland.

Looking for recommendations for what will primarily be a road car please? (Running standard wheels 15” diameter). Also where to purchase the new tyres from?

Get ZZS from Ronnie at Wheelsaround either at Knockhill or Auchterarder. Fitted price is good and grip much improved (although CSR struggles at this time of year)

The car needs more poke in order to get some heat into them. Had CSR for 5 years, Change from CR500 to ZZS was a massive improvement.

One hiccup: the fronts - CR500 were 195/45 R15, ZZS is 195/50 R15 that makes the tyre higher. you will need to modify the front wing front mount (make the hole for the bolt bigger) in order to bring the front of the wing higher in order to prevent it from scraping the surface of the tyre. 

Rears - no problem as ZZS is the same size as CR500 - 245/40 R15.

Thanks Doctor, poor show that Avon couldn’t actually make the right size tyre, plus these ZZS are far from a bargain!

When I changed from CR500's to ZZS's on the CSR I didn't need to adjust the front wings, although it is a very tight fit, it does clear OK.

Re #5:

Same with my R400D, when moving from CR500 195/45-15 to ZZS 195/50-15.  The reason mine (just) fitted was that the tread "shoulder" on the ZZS is much more sloping (that is, less square) than the CR500.
