Newton Fuel Cap Key

I'm told replacement keys for these caps aren't easily available from third party locksmiths and have to be obtained from Newton. Any club members have experience of replacing these keys?

I was aware of the Newton website but looking for alternatives.

Not too sure what a Newton fuel cap is - is it the standard Caterham item with the little lift up flap?  If it is try your local locksmith - mine provided a spare key from stock. Thompson's and a  local cobbler who also does keys sucked their teeth and said no chance.

That's the one. I believe Newton charge a lot for replacements so I was wondering about alternatives. I'll give my local locksmiths a visit.

Newton’s customer service was abysmal when I requested a key. I wanted a second one, so I had the number reference on it to make things easy.

They said ‘spare keys are not a priority”.

This was after trying Timpsons and a few local locksmiths.The blank is an odd one. I’ll have a little search and see if I can find the name/manufacturer.

Should a local key cutter offer a similar service you need the generic Silca LF30R blank. Not sure if they can cut only from key/lock code though.
