Guest
Does anyone know what protocol/tool works with the Caterham OBD? Bosch and Snap On don't seem to work.

CharlesElliott
What engine/year? K series is a standard OBD2, so should work with anything.
garybee
Is yours EU2 or EU3? If the latter then it should work with any generic OBD reader. EU2 engines need Rover specific software though unfortunately (although I haven't tried to connect to one to confirm). I use a generic ELM327 reader on my EU3 k-series. I would recommend the Android app Torque and a Bluetooth adaptor if you have an Android phone. It's excellent. Edit: for some reason I assumed we were talking about K engined cars here. Need to know the engine/ECU type really to give a definitive answer. Edited by - garybee on 17 Sep 2013 12:09:
RedCat7
Android Torque + Bluetooth OBD2 adaptor didn't work on my Sigma. Did work ok on my Mondeo Mk3 though.
TheManAlive
I tried this on my Sigma and it did not work. Was rather disappointed and never found a solution.

Guest
It's a 2002 R300 Superlight with a K-series 1.8 160 bhp. However, the car was originally Caterham's own car and it looks like it's got an engine from possibly 2005 'ish in it as there is no distributor driven off the cam. Jonathan This stuff doesn't interest me for my 7, but I have a very similar problem on a clinical research project which needs to record temperature, breathing, heart rate etc. Can't do remapping yet... Guest
The ECU is a MBE. It says: Part no. 72908 Serial no. 00026635 Software 967BC474
rj
You need a serial mapping cable, the OBD is not connected. Also the EasiMap software does not run under Win7 - at least not under 64bit.
brianjhall31
Did you ever get a satisfactory answer to your question? I have the same P/N, Software ECU and would like to see if I can do some testing that everything is good before paying for more specialized advice. Car starts and runs well at top end but is an absolute pain to drive in town traffic owing to tendency to "kangaroo"
