Seabea23
Has anyone successful managed to connect the Caterham K series 4-1 primaries and collector as on the R300/400 (without a cat) to the standard K series silencer with internal cat and twin mounting points. I prefer the look of the smaller diameter can of the standard system but want an intenal cat for road use. I appreciate the non standard systems are a better solution but I don't think the dustbin size silencers suit the car.

elie boone
I think that the std exhaust with Cat inside may be too long to fit behind the 4 into 1 exhaust system of the R 300/R400. However you could shorten the can with the cat fixed into the front so that it may fit behind the long 4 into 1. For the std exhaust system ( 4 into 1 inside the body ) i modified a few silencers with cat so that they could be taken off and replaced with an other silencer without Cat. TomB
Ive found very few parts of the CC systems are interchangable with others - I understand the systems are designed as one. Some years ago I tried to fit an SLR 7 inch can to the 4-1 K seried race system, but the inlet on the silencer was too short. The SLR primaries were too short for the race exhaust. If your trying to do something non standard with standard bits, you'll struggle.
