Por15 or Hammerite for the best looking finish

I have just the very slightest bit of flaking powder coat on the leading edge on the chassis tube that runs under the fuel tank

so am asking the fountain of knowledge what will give the best looking result ie nearest to Arch finish with no visible brush strokes out of Por15 or Hammerite smooth and what finish ,satin or gloss? You get the idea, yep I really don't know!

i don't mind ease of use v's mess as it will all be masked taken back and done thoroughly.

Hi POR-15 is used as a base coat to protect the metal and restrict rusting. it should be painted with a top coat if its going to be seen plus its very glossy when it dries.  I'd use Hammerite satin black.  In fact I think that's what Arch use when they are touching up chassis repairs but that was a few years ago.

Thanks Nick, your views are greatly appreciated and answers my question on what type of finish would look best.

Interesting that arch used Hammerite satin to touch up repairs, they're work is the best so good enough for them is good enough for me.

thanks Ralph

ISTR that Arch no longer use Hammerite they use some other paint, there was a post to this effect not too long ago, of course if we had a useable  [Censored]  search facility on here I could find it for you.........

What is a search facility?

Note to self: You can not criticize the forum. It has cost a fortune. Therefore it works as it should. It's yourself that's defunct.

X 2 regarding the search facility,it's not all that !

And that's being generous Just needs a little tweek so it retrieves what you ask for and not like my Labrador what it finds first!

seriously thanks for any help and guidance as I really want to get it right.
