That's why I asked about the number of brackets. I don't know who has how many, or whether that's affected by the type of silencer. I have a front bracket so I probably overestimate the number that do.

And when I look at mine and read about failure at the inlet to the silencer that's where I'd expect the flexing to cause a problem.

My thro the bonnet 4:1 with a 7" x 950mm can only uses the rear bracket as it design for that purposes by Mike Edwards in Wisbech  Thumb Up

As the Raceco exhaust is so light (around 5.6Kg) it only uses the rear support bracket.

Nowhere near as shinny as Titanium7, but my K-series only uses the rear bracket,....no issues so far.... (cannot figure out how to rotate image !)

There's a genuine problem with image orientation on the site when using an iPhone, and there's now an explanation in the archives.

I rotated that one on my Mac by:

  1. Downloading the image.
  2. Opening it in Preview, rotating it and saving it.
  3. Uploading it to the thread using the shortcut upload.

I don't know the details of the equivalent in Windows 10 but I'd put money on there being one.

5.6 kg for an exhaust is not light, my all SS can weighs just under 5 kg that's because the outer skin is 0.8mm ! on a cold winters day i can warm my hands on the rear of the can without shedding some skin.
