rear diff ford type removal

still learning my caterham,how hard is it to drop the rear diff out,i will split the prop first to see if the play is diff or 6 speed box.Seems noisy and clunky,may get the Kmaps changed aswell

Having done it a few times, I can remove the Ford diff with a trolley jack for support in less than an hour and a half. Remove prop shaft bolts. Remove brake calipers, unbolt deDion ears, pull drive shafts out of diff, remove A-frame, unboit diff and lower to ground with trolley jack. Easier access to bolts with boot floor out.

I would agree with #2, same process with BMW diff too. 

Removing ARB, if you have one,helps too and only adds a few minutes and if you do remove the floor there's the possibility to put a cord through the top holes of the diff, remove the front bolts and lower the diff to the floor rather than use a jack.

cheers,so a bit more to it than i imagined ,but doable.I am i right in thinking its a sierra diff ,but with different driveshaft connections,sure my We-------d had bolts on the shafts and then just drop it out.

The Ford unit on de Dion Sevens is from a Sierra... but a specific type. Other Sierras used other types.
