Area Representative paul richards Posted November 30, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted November 30, 2020 Sizes refer to diameter followed by length. Length will vary according to the thickness of materials you want to join. Obviously you can get black or plain aluminum. For best value why not go for a selection. I'm sure there will be lots available on Amazon or EBay or something like this

Area Representative Richard Price Posted November 30, 2020 Area Representative Share Posted November 30, 2020 Popper bases need to be fitted with countersunk head rivets rather than the more normal pan head rivets.additionally, the nose of the riveter needs to fit inside the popper base. You normally need to modify the tool to achieve that.
OldAndrewE
The tool modification I use for popper bases is a short length (5 to 6mm) of suitable diameter aluminium rod with a rivet nail sized hole through it. Slip this over the rivet nail then use gun as normal.
elie boone
If you have a lathe it's easy to modify the tool, alternatively use a M3 nut between rivet and tool that will give just enough clearance.
David White
According to the build manual:Inner side panels = 5/32" x 0.47"Stone Guards = 1/8" x 0.51"I used a number of M3 washers to get the tool to fit in the fastener when fitting poppers for the floor mats and door strap.
