Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 18, 2018 Member Share Posted May 18, 2018 Which style... might be easiest to link to the one you want in the Caterham parts website.JonathanPS: There's a duplicate post. You can't delete that but you can change the contents and Subject so that all the responses come here.
auyt
Good suggestion, however I will clarify the question to a standard Caterham bar, the reason is key issue is that Caterham no longer have a listing for the live axle cars, and redline website is only really an inquiry only site. Tazio
Talk to Bruce or Phil at Arch Manufacturing, they would have made them...
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted May 19, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted May 19, 2018 As above - just call Arch Motors, speak to Bruce or Phil. P.S. get one with a diagonal brace, an FIA version.P.P.S. it isn't just the dimensions which count, the quality of the material is important too. Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted May 19, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted May 19, 2018 B.T.W. one issue you are likely to encounter is that the bars were made on a jig, not to dimensions on a drawing. Even today, I am given to understand, the present rollbars (ROPS) are made to match a master, not to engineering drawings. In this age of CAD and computer based analysis of structures and materials I find this astonishing.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 19, 2018 Member Share Posted May 19, 2018 I'm not sure what's happening here... I don't know what you mean by a "standard" bar. If you can show us a picture I think it's likely that someone who has one will go and measure it for you.JonathanPS: Redline can also be contacted in other ways. Vintageant
Like the OP, almost two years ago, I am trying to find the original/standard width and height of a roll bar on a 1963 S2. I've read all the above comments. Intriguing! If anybody has one, can they please measure and post? And how far apart are the rear 35 degree (?) bars?Jonathan Kay suggested posting a pic. Like the attached.

Vintageant
I'm in Miami, Florida. Bruce must be really old school! E-mail is celebrating 27 years!Unsure if I'm surprised, dismayed, shocked, or all three, but auyt asked the question 2 1/2 years ago on 22/08/17, and still no reply! The answer has to be something like 1185mm x 315mm (46 3/4" x 12 1/2" in old school), exact would be helpful.I'll call Bruce's rotary dial on Monday!Gotta love Forums!Get out & drive!
