Screen Delamination

Recommended Posts

When I bought the 420 it had a large chip in the screen and I asked CC to change it but they would not put a new one in but would find a better screen, which they did which as a slightly milky bottom. Although it is covered by the wipers.

It works and clears the screen without a problem.

I had it on a replacement screen (along with a good 20% of the heating elements not actually working). Screen company offered to replace it if it got worse but I figured another replacement was likely to be just as bad.

Surely on a new screen you'd insist they replaced it with one without faults?

EDIT: I see the reply feature is still broken (this isn't a replay to the previous post)

Anyone elses heated screen got this in the corners

A car I borrowed last year from Gatwick, when mine was in for a service, had the same "damage".

That glass effect looks very similar to when I accidentally ruined/delaminated some glass on my french doors using a pressure washer with the wrong nozzle (high pressure) attached. *yikes*

Sorry I can't recall the actual car I had that time (I've been loaned a number of cars over the past 3 1/2 years, never the same one), however I don't think the damage in the car I drove was as extensive an area as your example, judging by your pictures,

re getting another new one - I'd waited 3 weeks with the car off the road, was imminently going on a euro road trip so didn't have time. When I got back I figured I could live with it, and there was no guarantee another new one would be any better (I can't remember if the delamination was there from new, it was a couple of years ago. But the faulty elements definitely were).
