auyt
I am thinking that in the 35 odd years since the last of the live axle cars were made, shock absorber tech has moved on...mine has adjustable black SPAX.What are others using and what do people recommend, given the car is used on back roads.Thoughts ? Area Representative manningpaul Posted May 16, 2019 Area Representative Share Posted May 16, 2019 I have used Protech, they are very helpful and competitively priced too. Was in there the other day and they had just received a set of old crossflow Shocks to be replaced with their single adjustables. Protech Shocks, unit10, Lysander Road, Bowerhill, Melksham, Wilts. Tel 01225 705553. Hope that helps? Regards Paul.
AdamQ
I second the recommendation for Protech. I've used them for a live axle Seven and also have them on my De Dion car - they're an absolute pleasure to deal with and, as Paul suggests, excellent value for money. SM25T
I bought new shocks from Protech, but got them revalved by ProComp Motorsport to suit the Caterham application.
Comp Sec
I've got a set of quantums from Meteor Motorsport, works a treat and transformed the handling

auyt
I’ve given this some thought, I suppose I should have phrased the question with the cavity of off the shelf itemsSpax , AVO or ?
Simon.Rogers
I doubt very much any damper is off the shelf. When we specify ours we very much take all the car characteristics into account. Specification, weight and usage.Presently lead time will be from 3 to 4 weeks depending upon the manufacturer. We no longer offer twin tube type dampers and only offer mono tube gas pressurized type which has a significantly higher performance.
