Saltyhair81
I thought I would ask here before my investigations. For a while, I thought I have been imagining taking my foot slightly off the throttle and the revs not decreasing. Today, my suspicions have been confirmed. I got the car to 3k and dipped the clutch. The revs stayed at the same RPM before I blipped the throttle and the idle then went down. Any ideas before I start looking? Cars a 2006 Sigma 150 Superlight. It's also still under CC warranty so if it's not a simple fix, I'll be adding it to the list with the service. Joe
SM25T
Pivot on throttle pedal ... try checking not pinched by bolt. Try lubrication.
Saltyhair81
I've lubricated everything just now, all wires and pivot points. If anyone has any other ideas before I test run the car tomorrow, let me know and I will do those now. I thought it would be pretty straight forward but you never know if there are hidden problems! SM25T
Have you removed the pedal box cover and disconnected the cable to check free movement of the pedal, then the cable (disconnected both ends) .... assuming the car has a cable, rather than fly by wire? K7 VCT
It does have a cable throttle, look at the return spring had a broken one on my first sigma . Would very slowly return to idle when it was warmed up. New spring goid as new.

Garth
I found my throttle cable was sticking because the sheath it runs in was being effected by the heat from the exhaust primaries - I bought a better cable and then wrapped it in a heatshield - no problems since. Obviously may not be this - but consider if everything else seems ok!
Tom_Arundel
On mine and several other sigmas it was caused by the 2 screws holding the TPS in position being too tight. A slight easing off of the screws fixed it.
Saltyhair81
Thanks for all the replies, I'll have another look later. It seems much better since adding oil to all the moving parts. Prior to me purchasing my car, for the last quite a few years she had done 50 miles a year, each year (mot station and back) so hoping it's just teething probs from lack or use and sitting there. I'll have a test run later so fingers crossed
Eccles
I had this very problem a month or two ago. For me it was that the throttle return springs on the throttle boddies had relaxed a little over the years. I managed to bend a new stub on the main spring for a bit of extra tension and it is all good now.I have bought a spare set from Caterham but you will wince at the price for a couple of springs!! Saltyhair81
To confirm; I lubricated all the cables and the pedal assembly. It seems to have resolved my issues for now, but this thread is great help with any future issues if it returns. Thanks everyone
