Anton
I have a small TomTom Start SatNav mounted in a head-up display position and usually use it's speed display rather than my speedo.Recently I've noticed sudden variations in speed displayed although I am cruising at a steady speed. For example showing a steady 40 mph, suddenly jumping up to 48 say before dropping back to 40.Anybody any idea if this means the SatNav is faulty or is it something to do with satelite signals being interfered with by things like trees or buildings? Drumster
I don't recall anything like that happening on my TomToms over the last 10 years with use in tin-tops and the 7. It does sound like a fault. Hopefully I'm wrong....
rj
My guess would be that the GPS receiver is about to expire.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted May 20, 2019 Member Share Posted May 20, 2019 Same thoughts as above. You could do a factory reset and software update. There's a pretty active TomTom forum.Jonathan

Anton
Jonathan - it's a Start 52 serial XR, so it's not one of those listed, a couple of years old and a present from one of my sons.RJ I hope the GPS ISN'T on its way out.......I'll have a go at their Forum - to see if I can avoid the factory restart and re-insertion of loads of data, or if/how to save them to an external store and then recover them
