Thread lock - prop to diff bolts

Please assist a numpty....

Yesterday I attended Road & Race Transmissions and Phil kindly swapped by debit card PIN for a shiny new Titan LSD 😬 *thumbup*

Checking what I think is the last build manual I downloaded (I cannot find a build manual download on the revamped website), it has a torque value of 47 Nm for the bolts. Will buy new bolts, as is recommended in searches of previous tech talk threads on here.

Build manual recommends either Loctite Threadlock 242 or 243.

242 has a breakaway torque of 11.5Nm and 243 a breakaway torque 26Nm.

As 26 is quite a way from 47, can someone explain in small words what I should be seeking to achieve with the thread locker. I am sure that after all this time Caterham have it right, but I would like a bit of understanding and reassurance.

The underside of my car is an oily and alien world to me; this should be fun!

TIA.

I had a Titan off Phil as well, and ordered new bolts from Caterham which arrived without the blue thread lock. I just used the loctite 243 and torqued them up, they're still tight after 8000 miles *smile*
