Turn indictors not working - K -series

Hi

Does anyone have a link to a diagram or labelled photo of K-series fuse / relays (on bulk head passenger foot well)?

Indicators suddenly stopped working today when out for a blat. Both directions. Hazards work OK.

I have reviewed a helpful TechTalk article from 23/4/03 "Turn indicators not working". I think problem must be the indictor switch or the fuse/ relay. I have no manual for my 1996 1.6 K series so no diagram of the switches/ relays and I don't want to start pulling them out until I know which one could be the problem.

There is a thread on Pistonheads with useful diagrams of the fuse positions and function but as far as I can tell this covers sigma and duratec cars only.

Many thanks

Adrian

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago - although I think mine only stopped working in one direction... anyway, after a bit of playing around I ordered a new dash indicator switch from Redline - problem solved! *thumbup*

If it helps, the diagram below shows the indicator and hazard light circuit. It's a bit easier to read than when it's all tangled in with the complete vehicle wiring diagram. I adapter this from a Classic Mini diagram; they use basically the same Lucas system, but I've updated it and corrected the wire colours etc. as required.

Got back to a seriously drowned Seven at 1700 for the last few miles home. And no waterproofs.

Indicators worked OK one side but only buzzed the other. Hazard warning lights only buzzed.

Drove home with hand signals and caution.

This morning armed with the accumulated wisdom of BlatChat I switched them on and off a few times. They now all work, but the buzzing still happens when I press the hazard warning light switch slightly and well before it clicks. That might be a useful sign to other sufferers.

PS: Engine also stuttered shortly after starting but was then fine. K series and that's never happened before.
