Tyres

Wouldn't fancy those at all, not the same as the NS-2R. I have Federal 595RSRs which are a good cheap tyre, like the NS-2R, but still around £60ea. That's in 195/50r15 btw, as there's very little in 195/45r15 these days.

Depends on how and when you use them and your driving style. 180 is fine for summer road use and medium power but 120 will be better for cold / wet use and more power. if you are using it over the autumn / winter i would go for 120..if you can get them. They are quite predictable / progressive in the dry and I haven`t had a problem in the wet...yet!  Sidewalls are quite stiff and tyre is quite heavy so not great on rough / bad roads but `ok` I like them (but we have reasonable roads around here).

On a 2-week trip to France was worried about the A048s for long distances in wet conditions.  Ended up opting for Nankangs as Rainmasters weren't available in 185x60x13.

Not sure of the compound (believe Demon Tweeks offered no choice in required size) but the tyres performed well in all conditions.

There was a thread championing Uniroyal Rainmasters;

Colin, I am using Uniroyal https://www.uniroyal.co.uk/car?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7Lzj2qjo3QIV6rXtCh0vNwUSEAAYASAAEgLnIvD_BwE

As I am not with the cars, I can not tell you whether I am using RainSport 3 on the Seven and RainExpert 3 on the 21 or vice-versa.  They are OK but next time, I'm going to go for something more dry weather orientated on the Seven.

I don't think they are soft enough for my taste, I want to wear them out not throw them out after five years with the tread  intact.  This is something I am about to do with the winter Nokian tyres I have used on the Seven; these are dated 2011 and look new visually  but you can feel  that they are harder than they were.
