MadCat52
After 25000 miles, including a few track events in my early days, I've finally given up trying to wear out my Avon ZV3s which are now 13 years old!!So I've invested in a set of Uniroyal Rain Expert 3s (185/70 R13) as my 'touring set', set the cold tyre pressures to 18psi and gone out for an initial run. Tyres feel a little squirmy, particularly at higher speeds so was just wondering what other users are setting the cold pressures at?Bob
DJ.
I have 185 x 60 x 14s and run them at 19psi cold. I started at 18 and the ride was good, but on a car limits day, a friend took some photos and it looked like the tyres were moving quite a lot when cornering. I decided a little more pressure might be a good idea.
Wrightpayne
Remember they will have release agent on them from rhe manf process which will take a while to wear off.
Bricol
15/16 is what I'm using.Mine where very "squirmy" at first - rear certainly felt as though it was falling over, but seem fine now.
Johnh
I have just bought a set of 4 185/70/13 last week and so far not been able to get out more than a couple of times but realised I need to look a the pressures so set them at twenty psi and see where I go from there.so far pleased with the choice. Mort
Book pressure for 185/70 x 13 is 20 psi. These tyres have soft sidewalls, so too low a pressure could cause what you are describing. Try them at 20 psi and see how it goes.
