My Respray Nightmare and a Total Lack of Pride or Respect

OK now I am over the shock

This is the crap job on my car I now have to get the whole thing repainted.

I had picked a yellow but told him (as a joke) I really liked the NEW Porsche yellow a 15k option on the new Porsche

They painted it this color

Pic2.thumb.jpg.c21209ae17331dfadc35acddc08c11c9.jpg

and left contaminants/dust before applying the racing stripe

and fitting the gas cap crooked

and did not reattaching any hardware they drilled out

And not removing the front scuttle band

At least they tried with the rear band

and giving it back to me covered in dust and dirt

And over spray on the #7

The guy offered me $500 back I told him to piss off and this would be all over every car forum and Facebook he said it was nothing they could not fix just leave it with him.

I ended up getting $850 back and signed a waver saying I would not slag his shop off on any social media site, releasing his shop form further claims while denying any wrongdoing.

Sorry a few other issues

Here is the wiring left hanging down

And here is the underside of the scuttle after they filled in some holes

And the outstanding effort NOT to remove the 4 seat bolts in order cover the rear panel in a Carbon vinyl correctly

There may be more but every time I look at these photos my blood pressure goes up

If you have not closed the book with the cowboys who did the spray job it might be an idea to ask them what brand of both paint and clearcoat they used. You are likely to need to get some paintwork touch in to undo their "good" work and a paint match on that yellow could be a challenge.  If they also give you the tinter mixing formulation of the yellow as well it might help, but I'd doubt they were that sophisticated to keep accurate records.

I think I am going to strip the car myself I have seen a few others take this on and think do it right the second time and if the shop I use knows what they are doing I should be happy.

I have already ground down the metal hanging under the scuttle and removed the graphics so I figure two to three weeks of work to get to the metal and have it ready for a second attempt.

Any tips would be appreciated
