Taped_Finger
I noticed today when cleaning the car that I have a build up of a white substance on the inside of the bonnet louvres.I've only driven the car to and from the IVA centre, which was a round trip of 50 miles. Is this normal? revilla
Wax polish? Cleaning compounds? They tend to squeeze out of the cloth or sponge as it hits the louvres.
TomB
Has it just been painted? I had similar on mine bonnet, infants Im still finding it sometime. I pretty sure it’s either polishing compound or the cuttings/ dust from the initial machine polishing.
Taped_Finger
It was painted over a year ago, polishing compound does seem to a logical reason. I have applied a coating of a carnauba wax so may it is some left wax
aerobod - near CYYC
Either that, or you were behind a Tate & Lyle lorry with a poorly secured load
Ed White
Could be the residue left over from forming the louvres. Are you sure it wasn't there before?
Dr. Evil
Could be a coolant leak. My plastic radiator leaked from day 1. You would see tell-tale similar white streaks on the rad or near pipe join.
Taped_Finger
It wasn't present before, I think it's more like polish, I will have a look around the radiator just to be sure.Haven't come across any Tate & Lyle lorries in my travels yet
