PETER HERTS
Nearly got all the parts to replace the missing chain tensioner for my Ford crossflow but the pivot pin which holds the pad is missing. Does anyone know what type of pin this is? Solid, Rollpin, Slotted pin etc and does it need a retainer at the end to stop the pad shifting sideways. This is the pin which goes in the main bearing. I have trawled the internet but to no avail so would be grateful for any guidance.Thank you and Happy New Year. Peter
OldAndrewE
Peter, it is a plain ended solid pin that projects from the cap by approx 22mm. I think 1/4 inch diameter and I guess it is fairly hard, i.e. not mild steel
PETER HERTS
Thanks very much Andrew. I have found some 1/4" x 1 1/4" hardened ground pins on line which might be ideal. I will make sure and measure tomorrow. Thanks once again.Regards Peter.
