There's a set of related tasks.

1 Searching for the thread or post:

• A thread about this
• My favourite method

2 Getting the URL of a thread:

• Easiest done by copying and pasting what's in the browser's display.

3 Getting the URL of an individual post:

• Easiest done by clicking the post number, eg #5 and then copying and pasting what's in the browser's display.

4 Creating a link to one of those URLs:

• Use this tool in the menu bar of the Reply dialog box:

• You can either display some anchor text which acts as the hyperlink to the URL or display the URL itself.
• The tool to the right of that one removes a URL, but is dimmed until something suitable has been selected.
