A couple of observations on the "new" sections:

1. What is the point of having separate sections, if posts are duplicated in chitchat as well (as seems to happen for Tours and Trackdays to name a couple)? If the separate sections are working it shouldn't be necessary. If they're not working, then why have them?
2. Why are lots of historic "race" threads appearing in "Tours/Blats"? eg: https://www.lotus7.club/forum/blattour?last_updated=-50years&items_per_page=50 
3. Previous requests for a non-public "members only" section, where Club business, finances, and other confidential stuff can be discussed have been refused as they have been deemed "too expensive", or likely to cause the MT too much time having to respond ( ). It would seem with the new sections that cost isn't an issue so I'd like to suggest (again) that a "members only" section is introduced.

it’s pointless commenting, giving ones opinion, feedback or any such like.

Just be done with it and let it evolve as anyone sees fit. 

you will only be met with all the pc comments from the modern management phrase book and how it will be considered and discussed. Then it will get kicked into the long grass for the next meeting etc etc and so it goes around

Ian:

1. It's not necessarily policy to do that but some users feel that is the way to do things - some don't. Not everyone using the system agrees on the best way to manage posts
2. Because we re-purposed the old "Motorsport" section which had very few posts in it
3. Opinions on this differ - it's like Brexit!

Dave - that's rubbish :-) As point 3 above, everyone has a different opinion on how it should work. If the people doing the work decide on something different to your opinion then that's just the way it is. Doesn't mean your idea wasn't considered just that the choice went different to yours - just like Brexit.

2. Not sure what the problem is, I can't see any none tour posts in the Blat/Tours section, and the oldest post is 2005........

1. My original point remains - if the sections are working then there shouldn't be the need to repost.

2. In that case, why on earth didn't you use the old "Motorsport" section for "Track" or "Speed", rather than "Blat/Tour" ??

3. Indeed, but perhaps if you asked the users/members, rather than just the "IT Cluster" or MT, you might get a consensus (next membership survey question?)

Track alerady existed as Trackdays.

Speed already existed as Speed Championship........ and now includes anything competitve........ so yes it's the right place....
