CageyH
What I mean is there is no quote button, that copies the post across.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted November 23, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted November 23, 2018 No, it’s plain hard work. Pretty standard on every other forum.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted November 24, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted November 24, 2018 Best not fixed as it is though! Simple button to quote the whole post would be better.

Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted November 24, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted November 24, 2018 I rarely wish to add a whole post, so copy and paste is quite sufficient. Also I have seen posts in PissedOffHeads where entire pages are taken up with quotes of quotes of quotes, so that the matter is lost in the repetition.By using copy and paste, it is easy to agree and disagree with parts of a complex post. However, I would agree that the loss of attribution is a noticeable disadvantage. CageyH
This is Drupal - it works a lot better than "other forums" It's much more user friendly. It seems a bit of a pain to me. CageyH
It is also not obvious it is a quote.
Paul Mason
But, if you want to respond to a specific post, can you not just use the reply function and save having to copy the text/quote anyways? Am I over simplifying or missing the point? Whilst there may be other/better ways of forums, this seems to work in the round? Not discernably different to others but that may be a product of how I use it mind?
CageyH
No.I tried that and the post reads completely out of context.Someone was bragging they had two widescreen monitors, I wanted to reply that I had four.

CageyH
Do I need to change a text setting? Ah, that seems much better, but why is this not the default setting.
Paul Mason
Depending on how you are accessing the forum changes the format options. On an android device like my phone, I have to set to desktop site to get all format options (I raised this with Marcus who is looking into it)
