Recommended Posts

Our Club exclusive Trackday session at Brands Hatch on 24th June is on. Great news.

Please see the below a copy of MSV’s document outlining the procedures they have implemented for their Trackdays including our Lotus 7 Club sessions at Brands Hatch on 24th June and Snetterton on 21st July.

These procedures must be followed otherwise MSV will not allow you to participate and will send you home. This is for every ones protection and there will be no excuses accepted.

We look forward to seeing you at Brands.

Simon.

The one car per garage rule could be challenging given we normally have 4 cars per garage.  Are we getting more garages than usual?  If not and the proposal is to use the paddock area behind the garages for track cars, can we agree to leave towing vehicles and trailers in the upper paddock area for the Brands day?

How will this be policed ?

Its been difficult to actually reach a garage sometimes in the past due to trailers and non track cars being in the way  .Will MSV have someone stopping non track cars using the tunnell ?

The MSV rules speak about one car and Two people max per single garage .

if your allowed two people in a single garage personally I don't see any issue having two Caterham cars per garage provided the owners adhere to social distancing . Such an arrangement might help with the use of overall space .

  • 3 weeks later...

Well that didn't get much of a reaction did it?

Spoken to a couple of the others that are going and they seem to agree that as the weather looks to be dry it might be a nice idea to have a social distancing L7C get together in the main paddock (lower as not on such a slope) rather than use the restricted garage space. What does everyone else think? Simon, James?

Hello Guy

We have garages 23 to 32, the last 10 garages, so we are at the end ( Clarke Curve end) of the garages. I have arranged for us to also have the area immediately behind these garages for us and our Caterhams. So you can get chairs etc out, respecting social distancing, so we can all be in the same area.

So my thinking was we could have our cars lined up behind the garages so we were all in the same area and respecting social distancing could chat. The car in the garage could head out to go on track for our sessions and the cars behind that garage could follow and the reverse when we come back in.

We will need to leave our tow cars and trailers in the lower paddock (so the is enough room for us all behind the garages) and then drive our Caterhams through the tunnel and park in or behind our garages ( only one car per garage).

Does that make sense?

Simon

Over to you Guy.   I am going to take my tools etc upto the garage area and then go to the lower paddock and unload my Caterham and leave the trailer and tow car and drive the Caterham through the tunnel and upto the garage area to be with the rest of the gang.

Ah - now I understand the difference between what Simon and Guy were proposing...  Sorry.  I will be staying (with my spirit level, peaked cap, Official Clip Board and sandwiches) in the area that Simon has indicated, close to our allocated garaging and parking area.  Hopefully others will bring fold-out chairs and so on.  Maybe get a camp-fire going, have a singalong, etc.

James
