Another ( generally ) good day , not sure about the weather though ......

Thanks Simon and James , Get well soon Dave .

Apologies from me for disrupting the last session in the morning with my excursion onto the beach .

In my defence i would say that the recovery truck driver might have made a better decision if he had tried to pull me out the way i went in. As it was his attempt to pull me diagonally at a random oblique angle only succeeded in making matters far worse and creating the lengthy delay .

I've done my bit for club funds by donating £185.00, spending 10 mins sat in the pit lane awaiting sighting laps, then 6 hours trying to fathom out an infuriating electrical problem. FAIL - despite most welcome help from various friends on site

only track time was an excellent session as a passenger with Rob Grigsby in his 250hp Duratec - witnessing some wonderful car control.

first track fail for the Blackbird

but great to catch up with folks

Great day out, my first track day for a few years. Lots of fun in the wet with way too much power and 7 year old CR500's making things quite interesting. At least that's my excuse as to why I couldn't keep up with Rob O in his academy car when the rain came down!

I've got some onboard footage which I'll post as soon as it's uploaded, every time I go anywhere near the throttle the car starts moving around, certainly not the quickest way around the circuit.

Glad you enjoyed the passenger ride Rog, hope you get the blackbird up and running again soon.

A very wet day meant me tiptoeing around as I'm still not confident with the car on track in those conditions.  Hopefully I didn't hold anyone up too much!

Good to meet some members in real life, suitably socially distanced of course!

Another brilliant day. Forgotten the known characteristics of Donington - as in the path of the planes taking off from East Midlands it gets quite slippery when wet. Got reminded this feature when flew into the Redgate way too fast on cold tyres - wafted graciously into the gravel trap at the end of main straight by choice as I was worried I could roll otherwise. My truck guy was sensible pulling me out and I might have been the only person on a day who drove the main straight in the opposite direction. Anyway, after some brain recalibration carried on and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the day in the car - the new LSD is awesome - especially the overrun locking under braking makes a massive difference for the stability - should have done this a long time ago. I think she is coming into the shape now.

Saw your video last night Rob but didn't clock it as you. It makes your car look very oorange. GOOD skills sir, and great to share a garage with you hope to see you on some more next year.

Fingers crossed for a dry day next week for my last track outing of the year at Bedford as I've had a 100% wet record this year.

First outing for my new lsd too. Impressions.

Much louder on the road a lot more transmission noise

On the track, really liked it. More predictable, less snappy.

Even though the wet isn't my favourite I quite enjoyed the day and trying out the different lines.

Thanks again Simon for organising it.

Doug
