STOP PRESS Castle Combe Trackday

Trackdays

Recommended Posts

Hello All

As a result of considerable interest from our Bath and Bristol members the Trackday Organising Team  have just confirmed an agreement with Castle Combe for a Club Trackday on Tuesday 30th June 2020.

This is a Lotus 7 club members exclusive day for Caterham and lotus 7 cars only.

This is a very popular Circuit so it will sell out quickly.

Unfortunately this will be our last event in the south this summer so go to our web site HERE to see the event information and booking instructions.

Hi Tim,

Unfortunately under the current COVID-19 regulations only those registered drivers, named passengers and named essential helpers (all from within the drivers household or "bubble") are permitted entry into the Circuit.

We have to conform to the terms that the circuit is currently allowed to operate under.

Sorry on this occasion!

Unfortunately Tim we have had to tell several people that they can not come as spectators to Brands Hatch on Wednesday and to Castle combe on the 30th, as they will not be allowed into the Circuits.

Hopefully this situation will change soon.

A big thanks to the organising members, super day and weather turned out to be just ok, dry track for all but an hour? Only complaint is that bloody sticker that Combe use, took an age to get off!

Well done guys,

Iain

A big thank you to all the organisers too from me. An excellent day, with really good driving standards. It was good to meet some other 7 enthusiasts and I enjoyed several sessions taking turns to lead with Mark and Simon in their K-Series cars.

Thanks to everyone organised in laying on yesterday's track day, especially the club team.

It was my first track day with my car and I had a great time. Weather was just right IMO, not too hot, a couple of slippery sessions. As one or two drivers behind me would have noticed on occasion, it really helped me explore the limits of grip, the most memorable one for me being getting on the power either a little too early or too hard (or both?) through The Esses which took a few turns of the wheel to correct!

Looking forward to the next one, and to anyone reading this undecided about doing a track day, two words for you ... DO IT!

Thanks to Brian Hall and the TD team for a great day out.
It was my son's first experience driving the 7, so while he had the confidence of youth, to say I arrived at CC somewhat nervous would be an understatement.
I needn't have worried - he quickly adapted from his usual Skoda Fabia to the idiosyncrasies of the 7 and by the afternoon I was happy to let him loose on his own.  ( It turns out he couldn't hear the advice I was  giving him when I was sat next to him on track in the morning)

Next step will be to add him to the insurance...

It was really good to be back together with our club members, if smiles mean enjoyment then we had loads!  Big thanks to the Track Day Team for all the background prep and support on the day.

But, most importantly, thank you to all our members who signed up and came along. What had started as my little idea to try and get some track time for us "South West Boys" ended up with capacity bookings, full sessions, open pit and new plans for next year.

Watch this space for our special plans for Lotus Seven Club at Castle Combe in 2021!
