Chris that looks like quite a good quality mat and May well be more waterproof than the ones I tested so if you're determined to go with that system then give it a go, it'll probably be ok as most of the time our cars are used on dry days only, when I do mine I'll be painting on the rubberized underseal as it'll be much easier than cutting, shaping and sticking and it can't fall off.

Change of plan - I'll now be taking the Flashband back to Screwfix and picking up some Sikaflex instead :)
I'd be careful which sleeping mat you select as I've tested pieces from three different budget types and they all soak up water.
How about some self adhesive neoprene from eBay?
