As for buying a Caterham, you have already crossed the biggest hurdle...Getting the wife to OK it!! Well done. That was a lot of brownie points used up!
Like the rest of us (even with some moaning!) you will love it whatever you get. There's probably not one Seven out there that isn't great fun to drive.
So keep looking and good luck with your search.

I sympathise, but it does take time to find the right car for you. As for your frustration, imagine having a Seven of your own in the garage and not being able to drive it during lockdown.
Have patience. Your time will come.

You can still buy one in lockdown to put in your garage though. Just done that myself !!
