WTB VARIOUS TO COMPLETE RESTORATION OF XFLOW or SELL PROJECT

I'm at a crossroads, my1986 Qplate LIVE AXLE XFLOW LONG COCKPIT  has a refurbished engine (234 cam 135bhp) and carbs (40 dco Weber), and new: radiator, alternator, water pump, oil pump.

Can I get the above missing bits at reasonable cost or should I sell the project?  Any views?

Sorry my post is so confusing, the bits I need to complete the restoration are in the detail of the subject matter but don't appear when you open the posting!.  They are: seats, with runners; pair harnesses; front suspension; rear lights; brake master cylinder and reservoir; battery; cooling system expansion tank; engine to chassis mount; instruments.

It's also true that I would consider selling the project, offers over £6000.

Might be able to do you a lot of the front suspension if it is the same as the dedion supersprint set up? and may have engine mounts, will have to check at the week end. Might have a master cylinder as well but if i kept it it will need a refurb as it was leaking when i took it off. Do you need a steering rack as well?

Hi Mike I am in Sheffield. Happy to post if that is easier. Will try and figure out exactly what I have. Might be Sunday before I venture out as the weather here is not the best at the moment.

pretty sure I have:

2 x lower negative camber wishbones (trunnion type) both less than 500 miles use.

2 x upper link, ~ 4000 miles use.

2 x top link half wishbone kit with bracket to covert to full top link to wishbone

2 x trunnion uprights, one has new trunnion, one is ~ 4000 miles, no play in either set.

Not sure if I have the front antiroll bar, if I do it will have the mounts on it still.

Need to retain the calipers for my rebuild, but may still have a set that need a refurb if they would be useful?

need to find the mounts and the master cylinder, but less confident that I have kept these, will let you know if I find them.

If it was me, I would

seats, with runners; - I would advertise for seats directly, they crop up quite regularly. Oxted do a refurbishment service at reasonable cost

pair harnesses; - I would buy new. I wouldn't trust someone else's discarded ones.

brake master cylinder and reservoir;  - Again, I would ensure whatever I bought was new.  I can not se many people discarding a perfect one.

battery; - New, their performance drops off.

engine to chassis mount; - just call Arch and get one.  I think the off-chance that someone has not sold their mounts if swopping their engine (such as Crossflow to Zetec) is slim.

Hi Mike

I have braved the weather and dug out the parts I still have. These all came off a 5 speed Supersprint  dedion chassis from 1991.

2 x lower negative camber wishbones (trunnion type) both less than 500 miles use.

2 x Forged upper link, ~ 4000 miles use.

2 x top link half wishbone kit with bracket to covert the top link to wishbone layout.

2 x trunnion uprights, one has new trunnion, one is ~ 4000 miles, no play in either set. These include the standard hubs (ford PCD so maybe not good for you?) and a set of brake discs that I think did around 2500 miles, but are quite rusty. Cheap to replace so probably best to strip them and change them. Wheel bearings on one hub are new, other side are original but no play.

2 x spax adjustable dampers with springs, probably original but worked ok

Do have the front antiroll bar and mounting blocks that go with the half wishbones.

Do have the engine mounts, you will need to check if these are correct for your chassis?

brake calipers are proving elusive, but i do have them if you want them, they will need a full refurb so might be easier to find some good used working ones.

If you message me with an email address I can send you pictures, adding them to here is too painful

Don't have the master cylinder anymore.
