Was in my garage this morning fitting an electric kit to one of my bikes. Part of the process involves fitting brake sensors so that the power is turned off immediately the brakes are applied; this means that I had to shorten the outer cables.
Anyway, I'm in the process of doing this when in wanders Milo, who proceeded to take an interest in what I was doing. Unfortunately when I cut the cable with my side cutters the piece I cut off pinged across the garage and disappeared. Not really a problem, except that there was a finishing ferrule attached to it that I needed to fit to the remaining cable so that it would slot snugly into the brake lever.
I had no idea where it had gone, but Milo immediately went over to a pile of wood in the corner and started trying to fish something out. You've guessed it, he had seen where it had gone and lead me straight to the spot. I might have wasted an hour looking for it if it hadn't been for him. He definitely earned his keep today.
