You own a car which has been designed for one purpose.......speed......and driving a Caterham on our crowded roads can often be frustrating. And because you own a Caterham you enjoy the exhilaration of fast driving. You may have wondered what it is like to drive in a competitive motor sport event.
Perhaps you have taken part in some track days and been tempted to push the limits of your car.....but how much are you really pushing?.....are you really a driving God?
The Lotus 7 club speed championship is a way to dip your toe in the water of competitive motor sport using the equipment you already have.
The Introduction to sprinting day at Curborough is your chance to learn more about this sport from experienced competitors who will do their best to infect you with their enthusiasm. The day will allow you to experience the anticipation, excitement and thrills of competing in a sprint or hill climb event, driving your own car and riding with experienced sprinters. You will learn the techniques for safe competitive driving, and try them out on track, as well as finding out about the simple preparation and equipment required.
To provide maximum track time, numbers will be limited, so to secure your place, book now. Car preparation is the same as for club track days.....an FIA Roll bar is required. You will also need a helmet but there will be some to borrow on the day.
Entry fee is £59 which includes food. Bookings can be made online here.
For more details please contact Graham Howard (grhmhoward@gmail.com) or Paul Collins (paulsixwen@hotmail.com) .

Dorset and New Forest 7s are pleased to announce a “triple event” weekend from 19th to 21st July 2019.
The weekend begins on Friday 19th at Poole Quay with “Quay for My Car”:  an exclusive Lotus 7 and Caterham evening arranged by Poole Tourism with entry from 6 pm.  This is a good opportunity for 7 owners to have a natter, grab some fish and chips and kick some tyres.
There is no requirement to book:  just turn up!  Jon “New Cat” Lee will no doubt organise a pre-meet up before we drive in convoy to the Quay, and will post details on BlatChat.

Following on from our extremely successful event in August 2017, Phil Roberts has managed to secure a return visit to Bucklers Hard on Saturday 20th July.  In 2017 67 cars attended and this year we are hoping for as many, if not more.  However we do have a limit on numbers so, if you do want to go, please book early.  Entry will be from 10am and will include free entrance to the museum and there is an optional boat trip down the unspoilt Beaulieu River, which is well worth it if you are a first timer.  It’s an excellent spot to bring your own picnic or close to hand there is The Master Builder’s PH, a café and an ice cream kiosk.
Details of prices and how to book are as follows and are based on a group rate:
Children Aged 4-12:  £4.00 or £6.95 with a River Cruise
Children Aged 13-16:  £4.30 or £7.20 with a River Cruise
Adults:  £6.10 or £9.65 with a River Cruise
Seniors Aged 60+:  £4.95 or £8.40 with a River Cruise
To book tickets please contact Phil by email, akapmr@yahoo.co.uk, providing details of tickets required, your car registration and model of Lotus or Caterham 7 that will be parked up.  You will need to pay Phil by bank transfer – if you find this a problem you could ask a friend to pay on your behalf and sort out the cash with them.

Finally, on Sunday 21st the Classic and Supercars Show takes place in the grounds of Sherborne Castle.
Now back to a one day format, this is a cracking traditional country show with lots to offer the car enthusiast including trade stands, classic car auction, jazz and steel bands, craft fair and plenty of on-site catering.  The legendary 5 times Le Mans winner, Derek Bell, will be celebrity guest on the day.  Again, if you would like to attend Phil Roberts has arranged a discounted rate of £10 per car including all occupants.  We have limited parking on the Club Stand, so please book early by contacting Phil on the email address shown above with details of your car.  Alternatively, for any cars over the maximum number, Classic Car parking can be pre-booked or there is some on-the-day Classic Car parking.
