Three British Grand Prix circuits in one year – the Club has already been to the GP circuit at Silverstone, the GP circuit at Donington Park is on the calendar as part of the Club’s 60th celebrations and now we’re going to Brands Hatch. Memories of great champions and racers including Hunt, Lauda, Mansell, Piquet, Rindt, Clark, Brabham, Hill and many more. Now it’s your turn because we have secured Club participation on an MSV trackday that will take place at this historic and much loved former Grand Prix circuit on Monday 21st August.
We have arranged for Club-exclusive sessions that will run through the day, operating for twenty minutes every hour and with MSV’s other clients using the remaining time between them. Allowing for a lunch break we expect to have seven sessions in total, providing just over two hours of track driving during the event.
The format of the day will allow Club members to use the circuit at any time during our allocated sessions, irrespective of experience or ability. Accordingly, the event is not suitable for novice or first-time circuit drivers and, ideally, you should be at intermediate or advanced level to participate and we will therefore not be operating our ‘Buddy System’. We will, though, be providing free instruction on a first-come first-served basis throughout the day, available for drivers at all levels. The event will be subject to a 101dB(A) limit measured statically prior to starting track activities, in combination with a 92dB(A) drive-by limit measured on track. We will also be arranging a pre-event social ‘get together’ for the evening of Sunday 20th August.
The event is open for booking via the Club’s website or by using the Booking Form which will be included in the July edition of Low Flying. The cost for a car and main driver is great value at £310; an additional driver (who must be a Club member) costs £25 and passengers are welcome at £10 each.
This is usually a ‘sell-out’ event so book promptly to be sure of a place!
