The History of Motor Sport Film Show in Albury Herts

Hopefully you all enjoyed the Christmas break.
I am very pleased to announce that our next film show at the usual venue in Herts will be on:-
Saturday 31st January 2015
and our guest speakers on that day will be :-
Brian Culcheth and Bill Price with Graham Robson
Brian – a works rally driver best known between 1966 and 1980 in Minis, Escort, Kadett, Dolomite, TR7, Triumph 2.5Pi and Marina and others in the world rally championship– with a fascinating life story.
Bill – Started at BMC Competitions Department as assistant to Marcus Chambers in 1960 and was deputy Competitions Manager under Peter Browning when Department closed in 1970 by Lord Stokes.
Returned to Abingdon in 1974 as Special Tuning Workshop Manager. Appointed manager of Leyland ST in 1976 then Competitions Manager of BL Motorsport until closure of MG factory in 1980.
Graham- A design Engineer at Jaguar, Triumph and Chrysler, with a passion for rallying. A 'works' co-driver in Sunbeam, Triumph and Ford cars, and Competitions Manager of Standard-Triumph from 1962-1965, he was an organizer on the World Cup Rally, then a motoring writer, journalist, broadcaster, historian and author with 160 motoring titles to his name.
He will guide Brian & Bill through their story with input from his own wide experience.
All three of them had major roles in the 1970 World Cup Rally, London – Mexico- Brian finished 2nd out of 96 starters after 15,000 miles in the factory Triumph 2.5 Pi in a 7 car team of Triumphs, Maxis and Mini Clubman GT- managed by Bill.
Graham was a prime member of the organizing team headed by John Sprinzel and was at all the major time controls in all the countries visited in the marathon 6 week event sponsored by the Daily Mirror.
On the day you will have the chance to buy Graham’s superb large format 206p full colour book on the World Cup Rally 40 years on at a special price – may be last opportunity as it has just gone out of print (then of course values soar)So bring plenty of cash with you.
Hopefully Graham will bring other titles available too which he, Brian and Bill may sign for you.
All the days usual features morning coffee, 2 course lunch, the quiz, afternoon tea and cakes and 3+ hours of lovely old archive films. £30 each fully inclusive food everything all day.
