Mike Scott & Barbara Swift Memorial Day
Monday 12th July 2021
What: Club-exclusive Trackday, with two groups of Sevens and one group of non-Seven cars and with support from Millwood Motor Company
Where: Castle Combe is located close to the M4 motorway, some five miles west of Chippenham in Wiltshire. Further details can be found at: www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk
As a result of the coronavirus we will continue to implement safety precautions at our trackdays for your protection including the following;
Signing on and registration will be online and via email before the event.
Briefing will be conducted outside and/or in small groups.
Check in and checking drivers’ licences will be carried out safely on the day.
Social distancing guidelines will apply throughout the event.
Helmet hire will probably not be available.
Passengers and additional drivers should be in the same bubble as the driver.
We ask that you do not bring spectators to minimise the number of people at the circuit.
We will amend these precautions as the situation with the virus changes and confirm in the events final instructions that are emailed to participants.
The Club lost two of its stalwart members in 2020, both of whom contributed hugely to the Club and it’s trackday activities. This special event is being arranged in their honour and will feature a first a Club trackday – there will be a 20 minute session every hour for members to run their non-Seven cars.
We have enjoyed Lotus 7 Club exclusive Trackday at this astonishingly quick circuit in its beautiful Wiltshire location over recent years and this was a favourite venue for Mike Scott and Roger and Barbara Swift. We will therefore be returning for an action-filled Club-exclusive day on Monday 12th July. We have reserved exclusive Club use of the circuit and will be running 40 minutes per hour for L7C members driving Caterham or Lotus 7 cars and for the first time ever the remaining 20 minutes per hour will be for club members only to drive non-Seven cars. Don’t say we never try something different.
We will be running three sessions per hour of just 12 cars per session, in the morning and after lunch moving to a 40 minute Open Pit Lane for Seven’s and a 20 minute session for non- Seven cars, so there are only 36 spaces available for this event. 24 spaces for seven’s and 12 spaces for non-Seven cars.
Our mid-summer event at Castle Combe last year sold out in just three days so we suggest you book now.
The cost of taking part in a Lotus 7 or Caterham is £215 for a car and main driver, an additional driver is priced at £40 and passengers are welcome subject to a nominal charge of £5.
The cost of taking part in the non-Seven car session is £215 for a car and main driver, an additional driver is priced at £40 and passengers are welcome subject to a nominal charge of £5.
The day is subject to a 100dB(A) noise limit measured statically prior to starting track activities.
All drivers must be members of the Lotus Seven Club.
