We were unable to run the Blat in 2020 but the 2021 Paul Marriott Memorial Blat will take place on Sunday 26th September 2021 and this year we are venturing to the south of our region and starting in Quainton.
As well as enjoying a great day out we will as usual be collecting for the Cancer Research Charity on behalf of Paul's family.
We are gathering at the George and Dragon from 09.00 for breakfast, coffee and a chat before setting off at 10.00 on the Blat to our final destination of Burton Dassett which is a wonderful country park near Gaydon.
We have a good mix of roads starting with the A413 featured in Blatchat last year and out through Winslow and Buckingham before finding various small roads on our way round the outskirts of Silverstone.
We will be stopping at the Woodhouse Toad just outside Preston Capes for coffee and for others to perhaps join us if they don't fancy the trip down to Quainton.
We anticipate arriving at the Woodhouse Toad approximately 11.00, approx 35 miles into the Blat. https://www.woodhousetoad.co.uk/
Then on to Burton Dassett on some interesting roads before reaching the country park which has plenty of parking and fantastic views. Great place for a photo shoot!
The country park offers opportunities for picnicking if you prefer, however for those who would like Sunday lunch we are suggesting the Yew Tree Pub at Avon Dassett.
If you decide to join us for lunch at the pub please book independently at https://theyewtreepub.co.uk/,
We have pre arranged up to twenty places so mention the Lotus Seven club when you book.
If you intend joining then please email Paul Cannon AR and we can send route details. [email protected]
